Moutai is extremely demanding on raw materials. Only red-tassel sorghum, high-quality wheat, and water from the Chishui River can brew the pure flavour of Moutai. Moutai is the only company in the industry acquiring the certificate of Green Food, Organic Food and Geographical Indication Products together. Its products are produced, processed, packaged, stored and transported in accordance with organic standards, which fundamentally ensures food safety for consumers.


In China's thousands of years of brewing history, the brewing method of Moutai is the most dedicated; from feeding to packaging, each bottle of Moutai has to go through 30 procedures and 165 preparation steps. In 2006, the "traditional brewing method of Moutai" was included in the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
